How to Cancel Audible UK

← Back to App  ·  Subscription Guide  ·  Cancel Amazon Prime  ·  Published March 2026

Audible's subscription model is credit-based: each month you receive one or more credits to exchange for any audiobook, plus access to the Audible Plus catalogue of included titles. Before cancelling, it is worth spending any unused credits — they expire when your membership ends.

Tip: Spend Your Credits First

Check your credit balance at audible.co.uk before cancelling. Any unused credits will be lost when your membership ends — they cannot be refunded. Use them to purchase audiobooks you want to keep permanently.

How to Cancel via Audible

  1. Go to audible.co.uk and sign in.
  2. Click your name in the top-right and select Account Details.
  3. Under Membership Details, click Cancel Membership.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts. Audible may offer a pause or reduced-price retention deal at this stage.
  5. Confirm cancellation to complete the process.

Cancelling via Amazon

Because Audible is owned by Amazon, you can also cancel through your Amazon account:

  1. Go to amazon.co.uk and sign in.
  2. Go to Account & Lists > Memberships & Subscriptions.
  3. Find Audible and select Manage membership, then Cancel membership.

Key Points to Know

Purchased books are yours forever

Any audiobook you bought with a credit or purchased outright remains in your library permanently, accessible through the Audible app even without an active subscription.

Audible Plus catalogue

The Audible Plus catalogue of included titles is only accessible with an active membership. Once you cancel, Plus titles you downloaded will no longer be available to listen to.

Pausing instead of cancelling

Audible allows you to pause your membership for one to three months. During this time you are not charged, but you also do not earn credits. This can be a useful option if you are between books but plan to return.

Retention offers

When you attempt to cancel, Audible typically offers discounted membership rates or a free month. If you are still interested in continuing at a lower price, these offers are worth considering — but be aware they may restart your billing commitment.

Credit-based subscriptions like Audible can quietly accumulate unused value. Use Sub-Site to keep track of every recurring charge — privately, with no account required.
