Cancelling your Spotify Premium subscription will stop future charges. You will keep your Premium benefits until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free, ad-supported tier. You can cancel directly from your account page on the web or within the mobile app.

Cancelling Spotify on the Web

  1. Log into your Spotify account at spotify.com/uk/account.
  2. Under Your plan, click Change plan.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Cancel Premium.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation.

Cancelling via the Mobile App

  1. Open the Spotify app and go to Home → Settings (gear icon).
  2. Tap Your Plan.
  3. Select Change plan, then tap Cancel Premium and confirm.

Key Points to Know

Billing cycle & refunds

You retain Premium access until the last day of the billing period you have already paid for. Spotify does not offer partial refunds for monthly subscriptions.

Downgrading to free instead

Cancelling does not delete your account. Your playlists, saved music, and listening history remain intact — your account simply reverts to the free tier. There is no need to create a new account.

Family or Duo plan members

Only the plan manager can cancel the entire subscription. If you are a member of someone else's Family or Duo plan, removing yourself does not cancel the plan for other users.

Before you cancel Spotify, it's worth checking whether it's part of a wider pattern of subscription overspending. Use Sub-Site to privately track all your recurring payments — no login, no account, all data in your browser.
